  • chevron_rightWhat is the size of your community?
    Westwind I is comprised of 195 units.  151 of these units are shareholders along with 44 rentals.  The price of a share in the co-op is 47,500. 
    Monthly fees are:
    • $150 per month maintenance fee for shareholders
    • Monthly rental amounts vary from $545 to $560 depending on the size of the lot
  • chevron_rightWhat services are included with the maintenance fee?
    The maintenance fee covers trash removal, recycling, and lawn service, as well as upkeep and repair on all common areas of the co-op.    Trash is picked up twice a week at each driveway.  Recycling is picked up once a week, also at each driveway.  Lawn maintenance is performed weekly or biweekly depending on the season.

    Westwind I is managed by a full time licensed Community Association Manager who also acts as director of maintenance for the property.
  • chevron_rightWhat amenities are available?
     The common area of Westwind I includes a clubhouse, pool, laundry area and shuffleboard courts.  The clubhouse is approximately 2,400 square feet which consists of a kitchen, library, restrooms, as well as a large meeting hall.  The temperature of the 27,000-gallon pool is controlled year-round using geothermal energy.  The laundry area offers three washing machines, two dryers, as well as clotheslines.  There are also 6 shuffleboard courts for residents to enjoy.

    The Westwind I Social Club organizes a full calendar of events.  In addition to regular weekly activities such as cards, dominoes, and rummikub, there are dances, karaoke and other special events.  Indoor calisthenics as well as water aerobics are also very popular and are offered several times a week during season.  The park also has a bowling league which competes each fall/winter.   
  • chevron_rightAre there restrictions on unit occupancy?
    Homes in the community must have one occupant who is age fifty-five years or older; and all other occupants must be no less than forty years of age.  Also, any one bedroom home may not be occupied by more than four individuals nor any two bedroom home by more than six individuals.
  • chevron_rightIs a background check required for new owners and renters?
    A criminal background check as well as a credit check are required as a part of the screening process.  The background checks are $25 for individuals and $35 for couples.  International background checks are $50 per person.
  • chevron_rightAre there restrictions on subleasing?
    Homeowners may sublease the unit for a minimum of 90 days per lease.  All renters will be required to obey park rules during the period of their lease.  Renters must be approved by the screening committee.
  • chevron_rightWhat is the policy on guests?
    All guests staying overnight or longer must be registered with Management. Guests arriving after the business office is closed must register the next business day that the office is open, or by filling out the registration form located outside the office door and leaving the completed form through the mail box by the office door.  A guest can stay not more than three weeks in any six month period, or a maximum of six weeks in any twelve month period.

    Westwind I is a NO PET park.
  • chevron_rightWhen are the normal meetings of the Board of Directors?
    Board meetings are the fourth Wednesday of each month from September until May except for the month of December when no meeting is held.
